The definitive catalyst for TX_02 was the Munich Hofbräuhaus Frequency Inversion of 1975, later known among archive theorists as the Alpine Echo-Shift.
In autumn 1975, West German telecommunications engineers were testing a high-voltage Telefunken shortwave transmitter in the Bavarian Alps. At the same moment, across the Atlantic, a Kingston dub engineer was pushing a modified Roland Space Echo RE-201 through an overpowered pirate-radio chain.
Under normal physics, the two broadcasts should never have met. But a violent ionospheric bounce folded the signals into each other. A twelve-piece Bavarian brass band playing inside a cavernous Munich beer hall was pulled into the Jamaican echo loop and returned as something neither tradition could fully explain.
The rigid 2/4 pulse of Alpine folk music collided with the fluid spatial logic of Kingston dub. The tuba line dropped into subterranean sub-bass. The accordion was chopped into an off-beat skank. Brass stabs dissolved into tape-delay corridors, stretching the beer hall into a cosmic echo chamber.
What emerged became the Oom-Pah Dub Protocol: a production anomaly where brass-band rhythm is systematically dismantled by delay, filtering, low-frequency pressure, and magnetic tape decay. The archive marks TX_02 as the first stable reconstruction of that impossible fusion.
